What is SoftPLC ?

SoftPLC is programmable logic control at its finest - a reliable, deterministic, real-time system that combines the discrete & analog I/O control found in "hard-PLC's" with the powerful data handling, networking, and open architecture features of PC's.

SoftPLC combines the reliability & ease of use of a PLC, with the speed, memory capacity and open architecture of a PC, offering reliable, deterministic control without the limitations imposed by conventional, proprietary PLCs.

SoftPLC is a 32-bit multi-tasking software program that embeds a realtime operating system that will run on any DOS compatible (x86) computer. These computers can be PCI, PC104, ISA, VME or other hardware platforms. Unlike other PC based control systems, SoftPLC does not run under or require the use of a Windows operating system.

With SoftPLC, the computer literally becomes a PLC.

Once SoftPLC loads, it becomes the operating system. The system architecture, being based on common PC components, allows user logic and storage memory to be easily upgraded. 16 Mb RAM is standard and is easily upgradeable
